Nominations for achievement awards, changes to the 2022-23 school calendar, an update on the Superintendent Search, and redistricting were discussed in today’s School Board meeting.

Research & Polling, Inc. was approved by the Board of Education to provide professional services to Farmington Municipal Schools to redistrict the five single‐member School Board districts.

According to the standard principles of districting: districts must have a substantially equal population; avoid dilution of minority voting groups; observe communities of interest; and, maintain compactness and contiguity.

Research & Polling will provide the School Board with three initial redistricting plans based on population data from the 2020 Census. This project is expected to be completed before the start of the 2023 election calendar.
