On March 12, 2020 New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, with the New Mexico Public Education Department (NM PED), announced the closure of every school district in state beginning March 16 and tentatively ending April 6. This aggressive order was declared as an aggressive, preventative measure to slow the spread of COVID-19, commonly known as Coronavirus, in New Mexico. Farmington Municipal Schools, including San Juan College High School and Farmington Preschool Academies, is observing its regularly scheduled Spring Break from March 16 to March 20, and all schools and offices will remain closed until at least April 6. All activities meetings and events as well as athletic practices and games have been cancelled or postponed until on or after April 6. For more information about the closure, visit our FAQs page

During this extended and unprecedented closure, Farmington Municipal Schools  asks students, their families and the community adhere to Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommended preventative practices including social distancing, self-isolation, frequent hand-washing, staying home when ill and coughing into the crux of the elbow.
