K5+ is an extension of the school year by 25 days to enrich and enhance curriculum and learning during the regular school year. This jumpstart allows students to learn in a classroom of their peers with the teachers they will have for the rest of the year. This extension prior to the beginning of the traditional school year helps to narrow the achievement gap between at-risk and other students, increase cognitive skills and leads to higher test scores for all participants.

This year's theme is "A Bug's Life" and daily activities will include hands-on and engaging lessons in language arts, science and math.

For more information on K5+ can be found at the NMPED website. Registration is at each school site, call your student's school for details.
